The Queen – 60 years of being a female role model?

As posted today to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee on the Financial Mail Women’s Forum blog from Capp Director, Nicky Garcea:

 

Guardian journalist Kira Cochrane recently wrote that: ‘Young women desperately need role models – and what the media gives them is heiresses, sex objects, surgery addicts and emotional wrecks’. With significant media coverage surrounding the absence of female role models in today’s society, Capp’s Nicky Garcea says it’s surprising that one of the UK’s leading ladies, Queen Elizabeth II, rarely gets a mention as a role model. In her latest blog for FMWF, Nicky suggests that by recognising the strengths of the Queen, aspiring women can find inspiration in her majesty’s reign.
